The Phoenix at Hammond is a 107,000 SF new-build senior living community in Hammond, Louisiana that offers 63 assisted living and 23 memory care units. Because of its culturally rich location in Hammond, Louisiana, a suburb of New Orleans, our team’s main objective was to create a space that reflects Louisiana’s unique identity.

Our design team accomplished this by leaning into Louisiana’s jazz culture, history, and architecture, drawing influence specifically from the French Quarter. They created a custom art installation of brass instruments displayed on top of custom millwork in the community’s bistro. Another unique design detail is the floor lamps in the living room that are shaped like trombones, again drawing on Louisiana’s music scene. The team also chose to incorporate bold and saturated colors like teal, gold, purples, dark green, raspberry and a variety of patterns that embody Louisiana’s vibrant style and charm.
